Towns for Tomorrow
Province Funds Queen Charlotte Projects

The Province of B.C. is investing $400,000 in the Village of Queen Charlotte's Run of River Alternative Energy Control Structure Project.

The Towns for Tomorrow funding will help the Village construct a lake control structure on Stanley Lake to ensure sufficient year- round flows for a new water supply intake downstream on the Honna River. This will be combined with a run of the river microhydro energy system which will allow the community to reduce reliance on their current energy source.

Minister of State for Child Care Linda Reid made the funding announcement August 26, 2008.
