The Village of Pouce Coupe will receive $288,000 in Towns for Tomorrow funding for its community library project.
The grant will allow students to have a place to study and do research, and give local readers, both young and old, a large selection of books to choose from close to home.
The library is part of the Pouce Coupe Elementary School/Community Centre project, which includes green building features such as energy recovery from heating, roof rainwater collection, solar panels and wind turbines.
Towns for Tomorrow is investing $71 million over five years to help small municipalities with populations of 15,000 or less enhance community infrastructure and create legacies for the future.
Blair Lekstrom, Minister of Community Development, announced the funding July 31, 2008.
