Towns for Tomorrow Funds for District of Peachland

The District of Peachland will receive a $244,678 grant from the Province's Towns for Tomorrow program to support local infrastructure development.

The project proposes to improve the District’s drinking water system
conservation and cross-connection program. It will allow the District of Peachland to extend the water metering program under our Water Master Plan beyond residential properties to include all agricultural and commercial properties.

A total of  133 agricultural and commercial water meters will be installed. The total cost of the project is an estimated $305,847.

The project will help to extend the life of the existing infrastructure — which serves nearly 5,000 people — by 10-15 years.

The announcement was made Sept. 6 by Okanagan-Westside MLA Rick Thorpe.
