Keremeos will now have its own Community Resource Centre in the heart of the community thanks to $272,748 in funding from the provincial government's Towns for Tomorrow program.

The centre will provide visitor information services, public washrooms, a kitchen for community events, and will also house the local Chamber of Commerce.

Located at the heart of the community trails system, it will increase use of the trails, promoting activity and healthy living.

Community signage and digital reader boards will be included to provide vital emergency information, such as that needed in the event of a wildfire.

The funding announcement was made July 23 by Minister of Small Business and Revenue Rick Thorpe during a visit to the community.
