Towns for Tomorrow
Province Grants $100,000 for Marine Pump-Out Station

The British Columbia government has awarded Harrison Hot Springs $100,628 in Towns for Tomorrow funding for the construction of a Marine Sani Pump-out Station.

The new station will help protect the community's natural water resources by reducing the amount of sewage waste discharged from boats in Harrison Lake.

The Province's Towns for Tomorrow' program opens the door for B.C.'s smaller communities to improve their local infrastructure and become even better places to live, work, and play. The $71-million, 5-year program is specifically designed to support communities of 15,000 or less in achieving their visions for the future.

Chilliwack-Kent MLA and Minister of Environment Barry Penner made the funding announcement September 5, 2008.
