On August 11, 2008, Community Development Minister Blair Lekstrom announced Grand Forks’ City Park will be upgraded, thanks to $400,000 in Towns for Tomorrow funding from the Province.
The City Park upgrade will include new lighting, an exercise track, pathways, a cycling route, an efficient irrigation system, and heat exchangers in the washroom. These upgrades will encourage park use in the community and promote non-motorized forms of transportation.
