The Village of Clinton will be able to take an innovative, green approach to wastewater management, thanks to a $400,000 grant from the Province’s Towns for Tomorrow program.

Towns for Tomorrow funds will mean Clinton can upgrade its wastewater treatment lagoon system.

The project will improve the quality of wastewater discharge to Clinton Creek, reducing algal growth and improving aquatic quality.

This project is the first phase towards eventually eliminating discharge to Clinton Creek and to use treated wastewater effluent for agriculture irrigation.

The announcement was made Aug. 13 during a visit to Clinton by Parliamentary Secretary for Rural Development and Peace River South MLA Blair Lekstrom.
