$400,000 Helps Build Brighter Future for Bowen Island

Bowen Island will benefit from $400,000 in Towns for Tomorrow funding for Sewage Plant-Environmental Enhancements to create a greener, healthier and more sustainable community for residents.

The project on Bowen Island will modify and expand the existing sewage treatment plant to include: effluent quality enhancements, effluent reuse for fisheries enhancement, sludge processing on the island and capacity expansion to provide advanced secondary treatment for commercial and residential sewage.

The announcement was made August 25, 2008 by West Vancouver-Garibaldi MLA Joan McIntyre, who also serves as Minister of State for
Intergovernmental Relations.
